ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the second-straight week, UCF standout sprinter Octavious Freeman was named as the Conference USA Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. The Knights also continued to rank among the nation's top 25, checking in at No. 13 on Tuesday's USTFCCCA poll.

Freeman, who already holds the title as the world's fastest 100-meter runner this season, posted the fastest wind-legal 200-meter time on the globe in 2013. Her PR and school-record time of 22.57 (+0.1) edged three-time World Champion and two-time Olympic medalist Lauryn Williams in a photo finish for first place.

Freeman also anchored the 4x100 relay team of Afia Charles, Aurieyall Scott and Alexis Faulknor to a first-place finish with the third-best time in the NCAA this season (43.58). UCF and Texas A&M are currently the only two programs in the country to boast multiple times in the event that rank among the nation's top 10.

This award marks Freeman's eighth-career conference athlete of the week distinction (indoor and outdoor) and her fourth of 2013. UCF has won three of the four weekly awards handed out so far in the outdoor season.

The Knights are the only Conference USA team present in the national team rankings and are second only to Florida (No. 5) among programs in the state. Kansas stayed steady at the No. 1 spot followed by Texas A&M, Oregon, LSU and Florida in the top five.

Coupled with the outdoor season, UCF has not fallen out of the top 25 dating to April 26, 2011.

UCF currently boasts eight marks that stand among the nation's top 25 in their respective categories. The team travels to Gainesville for the second time in three weeks this Saturday at the Tom Jones Invitational.
