LAS VEGAS (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a runner-up finish at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Tuesday afternoon at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas.
UCF finished the tournament 33-over, just three strokes back of first-place Indiana. The host school - UNLV - was third at +34. The entire tournament was played in windy, difficult conditions.
Overall, we're pleased with a second-place finish in this field, head coach Emily Marron said. We didn't have our best today and were able to fight hard to finish second. We look to build on this performance to go into our spring season with confidence.
The Knights were paced by Monifa Sealy, who tied for ninth place. Sealy tallied an even-par 72 Tuesday to follow up her 1-under score of 71 from Monday. She scored a 79 in Sunday's first round.
Kaitlyn Price (76-71-77-224 +8) finished tied for 18th place. Jessica Schall (76-72-78-226 +10) finished tied for 22nd. Carolin Pinegger (72-79-76-227 +11) was tied for 25th. Robyn Doig (82-81-76-239 +23) rounded out the competitors for the Knights.
