ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Adam Williams has joined the UCF men's basketball staff as the program's assistant director of operations. In his new role, Williams will manage UCF's video coordination, assist with team travel and help direct the program's summer camps.

Williams is familiar with UCF head coach Donnie Jones as he played at Marshall under Jones and also served as a graduate assistant at the school in 2009-10. He spent the last two years as an assistant coach at West Virginia Tech.

"I am extremely excited to be at UCF. Having the opportunity to work here with Coach Jones and the assistant coaches who I know and trust is a great feeling," Williams said. "Everyone on the staff has a role and I am glad that they trust me to get the job done."

Williams played at Marshall from 2007-09 and appeared in 51 contests, making 11 starts. He began his collegiate career at Kentucky and played in eight games for the Wildcats in 2005-06.

"Adam is a bright, up-and-coming young man in the coaching profession," Jones said. "We are excited to have him as part of our basketball family. I was fortunate to be able to coach him and I am looking forward to working with Adam at UCF."

Williams had an impressive high school career at St. Albans High School. As a senior in 2003-04, he was named the Gatorade West Virginia High School Player of the Year after averaging 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.

Williams replaces J.P. Clark, who spent two years on the UCF staff. He recently joined the Boston Celtics in a player development position.
