After spending the 2010-11 campaign as a graduate assistant, J.P. Clark officially joined the UCF men's basketball staff in June 2011 as the program's assistant director of basketball operations. Clark manages UCF's video coordination, assists with team travel and helps direct the program's summer camps.
Prior to coming to Orlando, Clark spent the 2009-10 campaign at Colgate as the program's volunteer director of basketball operations. At Colgate, he was responsible for several administrative duties, including coordinating team travel and meals, overseeing film exchange and managing the recruiting database.
Clark worked as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Flagler, in 2008-09. At Flagler, Clark assisted with recruiting, individual player development, video coordination and travel arrangements.
Clark, who was a member of the men's basketball team at Flagler, graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in communication. In 2011, he earned his master's degree in coaching from UCF.
Clark's family has a great tradition at UCF. His father Bo was a three-time All-America selection for the Knights in the 1970s, and is the program's all-time leading scorer. Clark's late grandfather, Torchy, was the school's first men's basketball head coach and led UCF to 274 victories from 1969-83. His uncle Mike starred for the program from 1969-72. Bo, Mike and Torchy Clark are all members of the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame.
