The UCF women's golf team finished tied for 14th at the Cougar Classic, which wrapped up Tuesday at Yeamans Hall in Hanahan, S.C. The Knights posted scores of 294, 294 and 304 in the three-day event to end up with a three-round total of 892 (+28) and tie with Mississippi.
Florida took the team title, with an overall score of 852 (-12). Duke (858, -6), Southern California (863, -1), Vanderbilt (864, E) and Georgia (867, +3) rounded out the top five in the 24-team field. It was one of the most competitive fields UCF will face in the 2012-13 season, including 10 of the top 15 teams from last year's NCAA Championships and each of the top five teams.
Carolin Pinegger (73-67-76-216, E) was the top individual finisher for UCF, tying for 14th place. Kaitlyn Price (74-75-74-223, +7) was tied for 59th, while Robyn Doig (72-74-80-226, +10) was tied for 65th. Monifa Sealy (75-78-74-227, +11) rounded out the scoring for UCF, finishing in a tie for 71st. Jessica Schall (81-78-84-243, +27) also competed for the Knights.
UCF competes again Oct. 1-2 at the Windy City Classic in Chicago, hosted by Northwestern.
