ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 22 UCF men's golf team will make its sixth-straight NCAA Regional appearance Thursday when play begins at the Stanford Regional in California. UCF is one of 13 teams that will compete for three days at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Knights, who will be making their third-consecutive regional appearance under head coach Bryce Wallor, will be looking to record at top-five finish and earn a spot in the NCAA Championship, which is set for May 29-June 3 in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Wallor's team has won three tournament titles this season and will be among a group of talented teams at Stanford. The regional includes No. 2 California, tournament host and No. 8 Stanford, No. 14 San Diego State and No. 25 LSU.

"Regional play is simple. You play to win," UCF head coach Bryce Wallor said. "Success is measured by finishing first through fifth. That will take you to the NCAA Championship. That is our goal."

Senior Brad Schneider, an All-Conference USA First Team selection, will be competing in his fourth NCAA Regional. He will be joined by four sophomores in the UCF lineup. Ricardo Gouveia, the C-USA Newcomer of the Year, leads the group, which also includes All-C-USA Second Team picks Greg Eason and Jose Joia, as well as Kyle Wilshire. Eason took medalist honors at the C-USA Championship last month.

The Knights will be looking to advance to the NCAA Championship for the fifth time in program history. UCF last moved on to the championship in 2009.

Live statistics from the Stanford Regional will be available at Golfstat.com.
