ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's soccer team will face host Florida in the second round of the NCAA Championship Friday evening in Gainesville. The contest at Pressley Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
The Knights advanced to the second round for the fifth-straight year on Friday after they rolled to a 2-0 win over visiting FIU. Tishia Jewell and Emily Grider both scored against the Panthers.
Florida is a regional No. 2 seed, and posted a 3-0 victory over Florida Gulf Coast Saturday. If the Knights top the Gators, they will face either No. 3 seed North Carolina or Baylor in the third round next Sunday. Tickets for the matches in Gainesville will go on sale this week at GatorZone.com.
UCF improved to 12-4-5 overall on the year with the win over FIU. The Knights are playing in their 16th NCAA Championship, which is the most of any program in Florida.
