ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Off to an incredible start this season, the UCF men's golf team has debuted at No. 6 nationally in the Golfstat Head-to-Head Rankings. The Knights have claimed tournament titles in both of their events this year.
Most recently, head coach Bryce Wallor's team finished first at the Adams Cup of Newport in Rhode Island on Sept. 20. The Knights completed the two-day, 19-team event at 842 (-18) and finished nine shots ahead of second-place Georgia.
UCF sophomore Ricardo Gouveia (Almancil, Portugal) took medalist honors at the event, and was joined in the top 10 by senior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) and sophomore Jose Joia (Lagoa, Portugal).
The Knights began the fall campaign by winning the crown at the Northern Intercollegiate in Illinois on Sept. 11. Schneider took the individual title at the event.
Arkansas is atop the Golfstat rankings, followed by Oregon, Auburn, Chattanooga and Tennessee.
UCF will return to action on Oct. 9 when play begins at The Prestige at PGA West in California.
