ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After leading the Knights golf team to their first victory of the season at the Northern Intercollegiate, Brad Schneider has been named the Bright House Student-Athlete of the Week.

Schneider was impressive both days, as he concluded the three-round tournament at 1-under 212. He shot under par the first two rounds, before shooting a 2-over 73 on the final 18 holes.

Last year was Schneider's best season yet as he competed in all 11 of the Knights tournaments, recording a 73.9 stroke average and three top-20 finishes.

With his eyes set on a fourth-consecutive Conference USA title, Schneider hopes this is the beginning of a special senior year. The Knights are ranked in the top 25 to begin the season and have added a couple of recruits who looked impressive in their debuts.

UCF will look to build off their season debut victory as it travels to Rhode Island for the Adams Cup of Newport. Last year, the Knights took the tournament title and hope to do the same Sept. 19 with their second of four tournaments this fall.
