ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Sunday, Aug. 7. Today marks practice No. 4 and it starts up at 3:20 p.m.

News
-The Knights practiced for the first time inside Nicholson Fieldhouse Saturday, while it also was the first time of the preseason they donned shoulder pads.
-Although very early in August, linebackers Jonathan Davis, Josh Linam and Ray Shipman spent the majority of Saturday part of the first-team defense, while true freshmen Terrance Plummer and Leilon Willingham joined Ray Cottman on the second team.
-Redshirt freshman receiver J.J. Worton made yet another dazzling catch yesterday, hauling in a Blake Bortles pass while diving close to the right sideline.
-Also making a diving snag was sophomore safety Jarrett Swaby as he pulled in an interception across the middle.

-Started 13 of UCF's 14 games in 2010 as the Knights' center, missing just the Houston game.
-Part of an offensive line that surrendered just 20 sacks.
-Slated to be the Black and Gold's starting center as a junior and is already having a solid preseason.
-Joined UCF in 2008 and did not see action in his first two campaigns.

Stat of the Day
-UCF had 60 trips inside its opponents' redzone last year (scoring on 83.3 percent of those appearances inside the 20). Conversely, the Knights allowed opponents to enter the redzone just 28 times (they scored 89.3 percent of the time).

What to Look For
-Monday's practice will mark the first session that the Knights will be in full pads. It is slated to begin at 3:20 p.m.

Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
