UKNIGHT and Get The "PATCH" Player Interview
#50 - Josh Linam, MLB
On the progress of the young linebackers during the preseason...
"They've come along really well. They are way faster than what I was when I was a freshman. I've been really impressed with them. Of course there will be mistakes but as a whole they come out and learn every day and I think they are going to be really good."
On true freshman linebacker Leilon Willingham...
"He's come along really fast, and his development has been huge for us. He's the one right now. He flies to the ball and he's always trying to learn by asking me questions and asking coaches questions. So we expect big things out of him."
On Jonathan Davis moving from running back to third-string linebacker and now to the first team...
"That speaks to his mental toughness. He's had bumps along the road, but he's got to realize that he's got to take every day and go out there and do the right things. We really need him as a linebacker."
Stat of the Day
-UCF's defense allowed over 300 passing yards in just two of its 14 games last season.
What to Look For
-At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, students are invited to the courtyard of Tower 4 for the Welcome Back BBQ Bash where there will be free burgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks.
