ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's basketball head coach Donnie Jones announced an addition to his staff Thursday as J.P. Clark has officially joined the program as the assistant director of men's basketball operations. Clark spent the 2010-11 campaign as a graduate manager for the Knights while working on his master's degree at UCF.

In his new role, Clark will manage UCF's video coordination, assist with team travel and help direct the program's summer camps.

Clark's hiring continues a family tradition at UCF. His father Bo was a three-time All-America selection for the Knights in the 1970s, and is the program's all-time leading scorer. Clark's late grandfather, Torchy, was the school's first men's basketball head coach and led UCF to 274 victories from 1969-83. His uncle Mike starred for the program from 1969-72. Bo, Mike and Torchy Clark are all members of the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame.

"J.P. is a bright, hard-working young man who has a great future in coaching," Jones said. "J.P. has a great work ethic and we are excited about his new role with our program. He has a great passion for the game, and is part of a family that has so much love for UCF and this basketball program."

Prior to coming to Orlando, J.P. Clark spent the 2009-10 campaign at Colgate as the program's volunteer director of basketball operations. Clark worked as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Flagler, in 2008-09.

Clark, who was a member of the men's basketball team at Flagler, graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in communication. He recently earned his master's degree in sports leadership and coaching from UCF.
