OCALA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF freshman Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) recorded a strong second round Friday to move into a tie for fourth individually at the NCAA Regional at the Golden Ocala Golf & Country Club. Eason, the Conference USA Freshman of the Year, carded a 5-under 67.

As a team, UCF recovered from a challenging opening round to record a 2-under 286 Friday. The Knights are tied for 11th at 584 (+8) along with Missouri.

Eason enters Saturday's final round at 6-under 138. His 67 during the second round tied for the lowest score of the day. He was tied for 11th after 18 holes. Mitchell Sutton of NC State is first individually at 135 (-9).

The Knights are one of 14 teams competing in Ocala. UCF earned a spot in the regionals by winning its third-consecutive C-USA Championship title last month.

Sixth-ranked Augusta State leads the field at 565 (-11). The event's host, No. 5 Florida, is tied for second with NC State at 569 (-7).

UCF junior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) is tied for 17th at 142 (-2). He totaled a 71 (-1) Friday. Fellow junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) is tied for 48th at 4-over 148 and freshman Kyle Wilshire (Georgetown, Ky.) is tied for 69th (158, +14).

On Thursday, senior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) was not able to compete due to an injury. He played during the second round, and posted a 73 (+1).

The top five teams at the regional will advance to the NCAA Championship, which starts May 31 in Stillwater, Okla. The low individual not on one of the advancing teams will also earn a trip to the championship.

UCF is competing in the regionals for the fifth-straight year.
