MADISON, Miss. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team was in action at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate Monday, and play was suspended in the second round due to inclement weather at the Reunion Golf and Country Club. The Knights were third after the opening round at 287 (-1).

After most of the 15 teams in action at the tournament finished at least nine holes during the second round, play was suspended due to strong storms in the area. The tournament will be shortened to 36 holes, with the second and now final round resuming Tuesday morning.

Southeastern Louisiana led the field after 18 holes at 284 (-4), followed by South Alabama (285, -3).

The event is the first for the Knights since the squad claimed the Rio Pinar Invitational title in Orlando in early March.

After one round of play, three Knights were in the top 20 individually. Junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) and freshman Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) were tied for fifth at 2-under 70. Senior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) was tied for 17th at 72 (E).

Sophomore Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) recorded a 75 (+3) in the first round, and junior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) posted a 77 (+5).

The tournament is serving as UCF's final regular-season event. The Knights will open play at the Conference USA Championship on April 24 in Texarkana, Ark.
