ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Off to an excellent start this spring, the UCF men's golf team will host the annual Rio Pinar Invitational starting Monday at the Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando. The Knights, who are ranked 31st nationally, will be one of 18 teams in action at the two-day event.

Other squads competing include No. 21 NC State, No. 33 Liberty, Florida Atlantic, Marquette, Rhode Island, Toledo, Wichita State and Winthrop.

Admission to the tournament is free. The teams will play 36 holes Monday, starting at 8 a.m. The event will conclude with the final round Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.

The event will serve as UCF's fourth tournament of the spring. The Knights have posted top-six showings in all three of their tournaments.

Senior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal), juniors Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) and freshmen Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) and Kyle Wilshire (Georgetown, Ky.) have all earned spots in the UCF lineup for Rio Pinar. Sophomore Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) and freshman Hojin Kang (Lake Mary, Fla.) will compete as individuals.

UCF has won three-straight Rio Pinar Invitational titles. A year ago, UCF finished the event at 14-under 850, 19 shots ahead of second-place Charlotte.

Four Knights recorded top-10 finishes, led by Schneider, who placed second at 211 (-5). Henriques and Martin also finished in the top 10.
