ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF's lineup is set for the John Hayt Invitational, which begins Sunday in Ponte Vedra Beach. The Knights will have three upperclassmen, one sophomore and one freshman in action at the three-day event at the Sawgrass Country Club.
UCF wrapped up qualifying for the tournament Wednesday. Three Knights - junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.), freshman Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) and junior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) - all earned tournament exemptions. Eason and Schneider received their exemptions by recording top-25 finishes at the Gator Invitational, which served as UCF's first event of the spring. Arendell won three qualifiers in the fall to earn one tournament exemption.
Henriques won the four-round qualifier, with the exception of those who are exempt. The team played two rounds at North Shore and two at Stoneybrook, and he finished at 295 (+7). Sophomore Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) also qualified. He finished as the runner up of those not exempt.
The John Hayt Invitational will serve as UCF's second event of the spring. Fifteen teams will compete at the event, including No. 2 Florida, No. 7 LSU, No. 13 Auburn and No. 20 Arkansas. UCF is ranked 29th nationally.
