ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team finished an exciting fall campaign last November with a pair of top-five finishes, and earned a top-35 spot in the GolfStat national rankings. On Saturday, the Knights will begin their spring slate at the SunTrust Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville.

No. 29 UCF is one of 14 squads that will play at the two-day tournament. The field includes six top-50 teams, including host Florida (No. 3), No. 6 LSU and No. 13 Auburn.

Competing for the Knights will be senior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Puerto Rico), juniors Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) and freshmen Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) and Hojin Kang (Lake Mary, Fla.).

The Knights finished eighth in the Gator Invitational a year ago, while Henriques tied for seventh individually posting a 214 (+4) at the par-70 course.

UCF participated in four events in the fall. In his first collegiate season, Eason participated in four events and earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors after his performance at the Adams Cup of Newport. Arendell placed within the top-20 in each of the four events and earned medalist honors at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, leading the Knights to a second-place finish in the first event of the season.
