ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - When the UCF men's golf team opens the spring campaign Saturday at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, the Knights will have a veteran lineup that includes three upperclassmen. UCF concluded its qualifying for the event Wednesday.
Seniors Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) and juniors Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) headline the lineup. The veterans will be joined by freshmen Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) and Hojin Kang (Lake Mary, Fla.).
Arendell and Eason both received tournament exemptions from the UCF coaching staff after recording top-30 finishes in UCF's last event, the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in October.
Henriques won UCF's five-round qualifying event to play in Gainesville. He finished at 358 (-2). Schneider placed second among those who did not have exemptions at 367 (+7), followed by Kang (370, +10).
The Gator Invitational is the first of six regular-season tournaments for the Knights this spring.
