Central Florida Fastpitch Set to Host January Softball Camps

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Central Florida Fastpitch is set to host a pair of softball camps at the UCF Softball Complex in January. Registration for both the High School Elite Camp and the Youth Skills Camps is now open and is available online at centralfloridafastpitchcamp.com.

Joel Chimelis (minor league coach, Houston Astros) and Allison Kime (pitcher, Rockford Thunder), along with the UCF softball coaching staff and players, will all be on hand to provide instruction over the course of the weekend.

The High School Elite Camp is slated to begin Jan. 15, at 9 a.m., and will conclude around 4 p.m., with lunch to be served at noon.

The camp will cover advanced instruction on hitting, bunting, advanced instruction on defense, base running, speed and agility training, advanced instruction on pitching and catching and video analysis.

The cost of the camp is $110 for athletes in grades 8-12, with a limited amount of spots available.

The Youth Skills Camp will begin Jan. 16, at 9 a.m., and will conclude around 4 p.m., with lunch to be served at noon.

The camp will cover position skill work, basics of bunting, base running technique, skill instruction on pitching and catching, proper fundamentals of hitting, fundamental skill work for defensive positions and throwing technique.

The cost of the camp is $110 for athletes ages 7-12, with a limited amount of spots available.
