ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After starting the 2010-11 season in fine fashion last weekend, the UCF men's golf team will return to action Monday at the Adams Cup of Newport in Middletown, R.I. The two-day event at the Newport National Golf Club includes 17 teams from 10 different conferences.
Last week, UCF junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) claimed medalist honors at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Indiana, leading the Knights to a second-place finish at the elite event. Fellow junior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) tied for sixth individually.
Arendell and Schneider will both be in action for UCF in Rhode Island. They will be joined in the lineup by senior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal), sophomore Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) and freshman Greg Eason (Leicestershire, England).
Teams participating at the tournament include Boston College, Connecticut, Michigan State, host Rhode Island, Seton Hall and Yale. UCF head coach Bryce Wallor graduated from Rhode Island in 1998.
UCF competed at the Adams Cup in 2009 and placed seventh. Arendell and Schneider tied for 31st. Henriques tied for 27th and was the squad's top finisher.
