ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team had a strong showing on its first day of the 2010-11 campaign as the Knights are second after two rounds of play Saturday at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. UCF junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) is first individually at 138 (-4) at the Wolf Run Golf Club.
UCF (585, +17) sits in second, seven strokes behind first-place Illinois. The Knights posted a 294 in the opening round and a 291 to close the day.
The event will conclude with 18 rounds of play Sunday.
Arendell carded 2-under 71s during both rounds Saturday. Junior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) is tied for fourth at 142 (E). He concluded Saturday with a 3-under 68.
Ball State is third, one shot behind the Knights at 586.
The Knights also opened the 2009-10 season at Wolf Run, placing sixth.
