ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The 2010 regular season kicks off Wednesday for the UCF men's soccer team when it hosts Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Admission will be free, as there will be complimentary posters and schedule cards available as well as postgame autographs.

The Knights went 2-0-1 in the preseason, topping Tampa and Saint Leo while tying College of Charleston on the road, 1-1. Sophomore goalkeeper Shawn Doyle amassed 11 saves in the friendlies, while freshmen Will Hetico and Sebastian Evers also saw time in net.

For the attack, six different Knights scored goals, including Nicholas Keown-Robson and Spencer Scott who each scored twice in the win over Tampa.

UCF's record in season-openers stands at 16-14-5. In the all-time series with JU, UCF leads 16-13-3, with the last meeting a 0-0 tie in Jacksonville last season.

JU posted a 0-1-1 record in its preseason scrimmages, playing South Florida to a 0-0 draw while suffering a 4-2 loss to Flagler. The Dolphins were 5-11-1 in 2009 but were only outscored 29-28 for the year.

After taking on the Dolphins, the Black and Gold will welcome Florida Atlantic to town Monday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m.
