ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After leading the Knights to their second-consecutive league championship last week, junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal), sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) and freshman Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) of the UCF men's golf team all earned Conference USA accolades Tuesday, the conference office announced. Henriques and Schneider garnered spots on the All-C-USA Second Team, while Martin was a conference all-freshman team selection.
The three Knights helped UCF win the C-USA Championship title last week at the RedTail Golf Club in nearby Sorrento as the team finished 18 strokes ahead of Rice and Southern Miss, who tied for second. The victory provided UCF with the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals, which are set to begin on May 20.
Henriques and Schneider both tied for second at the league championship. In 2009-10, both golfers have competed in all 10 of UCF's events and recorded top-10 finishes on four occasions each. In March, they led the Knights to the title at the Rio Pinar Invitational in Orlando, as Schneider placed second, followed by Henriques in third.
The All-C-USA Second Team honor is the second in a row for Schneider, who also was recognized a year ago.
Martin has participated in six events this season. His top finish came at Rio Pinar, when he tied for sixth.
