Men's Golf Seventh After Two Rounds in Mississippi

MADISON, Miss. (UCFAthletics.com) - Play began Monday at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate and the UCF men's golf team sits in seventh place after two rounds at the Reunion Golf and Country Club. The three-round tournament will conclude Tuesday.

The Knights posted 4-under 292s during both rounds Monday and have a team score of 584 (+8). Southern Miss and Memphis are tied for fifth, four shots ahead of UCF.

The tournament includes six of the top-50 squads in the country, including No. 18 Florida. The Gators are first at 15-under 561.

UCF has two players in the top-30 individually after 36 holes. Sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) carded a 3-under 70 in the second round and is tied for 10th at 143 (-1). After firing a 1-under 71 in the opening round, freshman Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) posted a 74 (+2) in the second round. He is tied at 22nd at 1-over 145.

Sophomore Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) is tied for 33rd (147, +3) and senior Simon Ward (County Monaghan, Ireland) is tied for 44th (149, +5). Following a 2-over 74 in the second round, junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) is tied for 58th at 151 (+7).

The event is serving as UCF's final tournament before hosting the Conference USA Championship at the end of April.
