ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF track and field team is back in action this weekend as the Knights head for Gainesville, Fla., to participate in the Pepsi Florida Relays. The two-day event, which begins Friday, is being hosted by the University of Florida at Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium.
Running events will begin on Friday at 12:05 p.m. with the women's 100-meter hurdles. Women's field events will get underway at 3 p.m. with the pole vault. Saturday's action will commence at 12 p.m. and the day will wrap up with the women's 4x400 meter relay at 6:40 p.m.
Collegiate teams highlighting the field include Virginia Tech, Bethune-Cookman, Vanderbilt, host Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, Florida State, Clemson, Miami and UCF.

The Knights are coming off a strong performance at last weekend's UCF Invitational, posting multiple top-three finishes and breaking many personal bests. Day one of the event featured senior LaKendra Thames shattering her personal best in the hammer throw and senior Jamie Rzepecki (East Aurora, N.Y.) winning the steeplechase.
Day two of the event was highlighted by a first place finish from sophomore Jackie Coward (Knoxville, Tenn.) in the 400-meter hurdles and junior Carley Dart (Whitby, Ontario) setting a personal best in the 1,500-meter run. UCF wrapped up the meet with eight top-three finishes on the second day.
