ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After leading his team to a first-place finish at the Rio Pinar Invitational yesterday, UCF sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) earned Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week honors Wednesday. Schneider finished second in the tournament at 5-under 211.
Schneider finished the event two shots behind the tournament champion Olafur Loftsson from Charlotte. This is the second time this season that Schneider has finished in the top-two during a tournament. He posted 2-under 70s during the first and final rounds at Rio Pinar.
This is the third-consecutive year the Knights have won the team title at the Rio Pinar.
This C-USA weekly honor is the first for Schneider.
The Knights will return to action on March 28 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C.
