ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the last month or so, UCF head coach Kirk Speraw had been hoping for his top shooter to have a breakout performance. Speraw was waiting for sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), who he considers one of the top 3-point shooters in the country, to drain a couple of triples and get back on track.

Sosa, who struggled with his touch throughout January, shot the ball with great confidence Tuesday, hitting four 3-pointers in UCF's 67-56 win at East Carolina. He shot 4-of-8 from deep and finished with 14 points in 21 minutes.

"He had some better looks. They kind of let him loose a little bit," Speraw said. "This will be good confidence builder for him."

Two of his four misses from 3-point range occurred when Sosa received contact from a defender. Fouls were not called on either play, much to the dismay of Sosa and Speraw.

Sosa has made 44 3-pointers this season, and now has 101 for his career. He is averaging 9.8 points as a sophomore.

The Knights will have a few days off before their next contest. UCF will return to action one week from today at Memphis.
