ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team will return to action Sunday when play begins at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach. The Knights have established their lineup for the three-day, three-round tournament.
Based upon their tournament scoring averages and qualifying results, senior Simon Ward (County Monaghan, Ireland), junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) and sophomores Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) were exempt from qualifying. Freshman Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) earned the final spot via qualifying.
Martin had a four-round total of 300 (+12) in qualifying. The rookie also competed in UCF's most recent event, the SunTrust Gator Invitational Feb. 13-14. The tournament served as the spring opener for the Knights.
During the season, Henriques boasts the squad's top tournament scoring average at 73.1, followed by Schneider at 75.0. In qualifying, Schneider has the top scoring average (71.65).
