Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer continued its challenging spring schedule last Friday, playing against Major League Soccer's FC Dallas at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The game was the second of a stretch of three-straight contests against MLS opponents.
The Knights' held tough in a defensive battle throughout most of the opening half, keeping FC Dallas off the scoreboard until the 43rd minute when Atiba Harris got FCD on the board. Ruben Luna then scored two of the MLS squad's three second-half goals as UCF fell 4-0.
In the Knights' opening spring game on Feb. 11, UCF got a goal from Yaron Bacher (Atlanta, Ga.) to earn a 1-1 draw against Toronto FC.
"It's all part of a learning and maturation process for our team," said UCF head coach Bryan Cunningham. "It's great to be in Florida where we can play these MLS teams in our offseason. It's great for the players, coaches and our program overall."
UCF will play a third MLS opponent, the Houston Dynamo, Tuesday afternoon at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.
