FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UCFAthletics.com) - Highlighted by a school record by the 4x400m relay team Saturday, the UCF track and field team had a strong concluding day at the Tyson Invite at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
Led by a 55.30 second split by sophomore Jackie Coward (Knoxville, Tenn.) in the second leg, the Knights' 4x400m relay team crossed the line in 3:43.38, besting the previous school record of 3:46.28 by nearly three seconds. Champelle Brown (Oakland, Calif.), Aisha-Maree Frazier (Marietta, Ga.) and Sheila Paul (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) ran the other three legs for the Knights.
Three of the other Knights competing Saturday set personal bests. Sophomore transfer Tomika Story (Orange Park, Fla.) had her best jump as a Knight in the triple jump, posting a mark of 40-7/12.37m.
Paul, a sophomore, posted the second-best time in school history and a new personal best in the 200m dash. The Florida native finished 24th in the impressive field with a time of 24.21.
In the 3,000m run, junior Ocean Cohen (Sarasota, Fla.) set a personal best with a time of 10:25.64, finishing 18th.
