ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF women's tennis freshman Allison Hodges not only got to enjoy her holiday break in her hometown of Memphis, Tenn., but she also took her game to the courts and claimed the doubles title at the Southern Adult Indoor Tennis Open over the holiday. Hodges teamed with the University of Memphis' Ashley Murdock to capture the crown at the Racquet Club of Memphis.

With the victory, the duo will receive a wild card spot into the qualifying round of the professional tournament, the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships & Cellular South Cup Feb. 12-21. Players from the ATP and WTA such as Maria Sharapova, Melanie Oudin, Andy Roddick and James Blake are already committed to play in the event.

Hodges and Murdock won all three of their matches in straight sets to earn their title. In the championship match, they trailed 5-2 and 40-love in the second set before coming back for the 6-3, 7-5 win.

The Knights will be returning to campus in early January to prepare for the spring season, which gets underway with the UCF Quad Tournament (UCF, Florida State, Alabama, Illinois) Jan. 16-18.
