Baseball's Upcoming Schedule Filled with Noteworthy Events

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With a month to go before first pitch of the 2010 season, the UCF baseball team has several events on the schedule for the next two weeks. And one of those highlights is the first edition of the Baseball Knight Fest Jan. 30 after the UCF men's basketball squad meets Tulsa at 5 p.m.

Fans are invited to join the festivities at the conclusion of the basketball game at approximately 7 p.m. The evening is free to everyone who would like to come out to the stadium, pick up this year's poster, get autographs and meet the team which will introduce themselves on the field. But for just $5 fans will be able to grab a ballpark meal as well as be eligible to win a host of prizes given away by the UCF baseball team.

Tickets are on sale now by calling the UCF Ticket Office at 407-823-1000, by visiting ticket sales display located outside of section 102 at the UCF Arena prior to basketball games, or by purchasing tickets prior to the event at the baseball ticket office Jan. 30.

Here's a complete rundown of important upcoming dates for the UCF baseball program:

NOW HAPPENING:
Season Tickets
-Season tickets for the 2010 campaign are already on sale. The Knights will play 36 games at home this year starting with Opening Day Feb. 19, and reserved chairbacks are just $199, while reserved bleachers seats are only $150. Faculty/staff, youth and senior season tickets are $99. To purchase tickets, call 407-823-1000 or visit UCFAthletics.com.

Birthday at the Ballpark
-Reservations are now being accepted for "Birthday at the Ballpark." Fans can host birthday parties at the stadium for only $150 for a group of 10, and the party includes 10 tickets to the game, food, drinks and a birthday cake. Call 407-823-1000 today for more information.

Field of Dreams
-Field of Dreams, meanwhile, invites little league players 12 and under to join the Knights as they will be recognized before the game and get to stand next to their favorite players during the National Anthem. Along with a member of the coaching staff addressing the team, kids also will receive posters with autograph opportunities. The group rate per team is $3 per person including players, coaches and parents (minimum of 20 people). The UCF Ticket Office can be help with reservations and it can be reached at 407-823-1000.

Dugout Club
-UCF baseball supporters are invited to join this year's Dugout Club by signing up for one of two levels. Benefits include the 2010 Baseball Yearbook, invites to special UCF baseball events, a UCF Dugout Club hat and permission to access the VIP hospitality room for "In The Dugout" every Friday night with coach Rooney. -With the No. 4 recruiting class in the country, the baseball program has a lot of newcomers that fans should get to know before the season starts. TUESDAY, JAN. 19:
Team Picture
-The Knights will hit the field at 2 p.m. to take their annual team picture.

SUNDAY, JAN. 24:
Video Shoot
-UCF will spend some time with the video department to shoot a ton of footage for the video board.

MONDAY, JAN. 25:
Video Shoot
-The seniors will meet again with the video department in an on-field shoot.

THE WEEK OF JAN. 25:
Season Tickets Mailed Out
-The UCF Ticket Office will begin mailing out season tickets.

FRIDAY, JAN. 29:
It Begins!
-The first official team practice of the spring kicks off at 2:30 p.m.

Single Game Tickets
-Fans looking to purchase single-game tickets for the 2010 season will be able to at 9 a.m. A full-price adult ticket will be $7 while UCF faculty/staff, youth and seniors are just $5. Call the UCF Ticket Office at 407-823-1000 for all the details.

SATURDAY, JAN. 30:
Baseball Knight Fest
-Following men's hoops vs. Tulsa (tip-off at 5 p.m.), fans are invited to come out to the park for Baseball Knight Fest. The event is free for Knight supporters who would like to meet the team, grab the new team poster and get autographs. Yet for only $5, fans can purchase a ticket to enjoy a ballpark meal and be eligible for prizes.

-Also at the event, it will be the first opportunity for season-tickets holders to pick up either their autographed baseball or signed jersey by head coach Terry Rooney.

IN FEBRUARY:
Baseball Yearbooks
-The new edition of the UCF Baseball Yearbook will be available in early February. Check back to the UCF Publication Store at UCFAthletics.com for more details.

KnightVision
-UCF's athletic magazine's cover story will focus on this year's team, including seniors and Orlando natives Chris Duffy and Shane Brown.

OPENING DAY!!
-One of the biggest sports days of the year on the UCF campus takes place Friday, Feb. 19, with Opening Day against Savannah State at 6:30 p.m.
