ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A day after rain affected the UCF Quad Tournament, the UCF women's tennis team had to deal with severe winds on day two in Orlando. And taking on No. 33 Illinois in singles, senior Katie Orletsky secured a straight-set victory for the Knights.

The afternoon started up with the Knights facing No. 15 Florida State in doubles, and the Seminoles collected wins at all three spots. UCF will try for revenge against FSU when the two programs meet in dual-match play in Tallahassee Feb. 13.

Illinois was up next for the Black and Gold as singles got underway after a short break. And it was Orletsky who notched a win by cruising past Amy Allin, 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Andrea Yacaman, meanwhile, gave the Illini a major scare at the top singles spot. Tangling with Rachael White who came into the weekend ranked No. 33 in the country, Yacaman reached a tiebreaker in the first set and had no trouble, taking the tiebreak 7-2. The second set was just as close, but after White managed to split the first two sets, Yacaman was unable to complete the upset in a 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-4 loss.

The third and final day of the UCF Quad Tournament is set for Monday with UCF meeting No. 25 Alabama in doubles at 10 a.m. and then clashing with Florida State in singles to close out the event.

RadioTennis.com kicked off its 2010 tennis coverage Sunday by broadcasting the No. 1 doubles match between UCF and FSU, as well as the singles tussle between Yacaman and White. It will again be on hand for Monday's action, and signing up to listen to the broadcast is free by visiting its website.
