ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - When the UCF men's basketball team hosts Marshall on Wednesday, Jan. 13, fans at the UCF Arena will be treated to a historical halftime performance.

The world-famous Blue Man Group will partner with the UCF Jammin' Knights band to entertain the crowd - marking the first time that Blue Man Group has partnered with a university and performed with a college band.

Blue Man Group, which performs nightly at Universal Orlando Resort, is best known for multi-media performances that feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is funny, intelligent and visually stunning. Blue Man Group is accompanied by a live band whose haunting tribal rhythms help drive the show to its unforgettable climax. The show also performs in New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Berlin and Tokyo, and its satirical rock concert Megastar World Tour has performed in arenas across the U.S. and has played extensively in Canada, France, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Korea.

"We are extremely excited about Blue Man Group performing at halftime of our game with Marshall," UCF head coach Kirk Speraw said. "There is no doubt that the UCF Arena is one of the top college basketball venues in the country, and now our fans will get to enjoy a first-ever performance from Blue Man Group. The arena should be packed and I know that our team is looking forward to it."

"Although Blue Man Group has entertained audiences all over the globe, this is the first time we've performed alongside the high energy of a marching ensemble," said Christian Chenier, General Manager of Blue Man Group. "Blue Man Group has been preparing for weeks with UCF's Jammin' Knights to create one of our most powerful halftime entertainment performances ever. We're breaking new ground with this performance and have learned so much through this amazing collaboration."

Blue Man Group has also appeared in commercial campaigns and television programs. Additionally, Norwegian Cruise Lines partnered with Blue Man Group for its entertainment offerings on its newest cruise ship - the Norwegian Epic. Upcoming projects include an IMAX film and a U.S. theatrical tour.

UCF's game with Marshall will serve as the Knights' second Conference USA contest of the year and will be televised live nationally on CBS College Sports.

The Knights are in their third season playing at the state-of-the-art UCF Arena.

Tickets for the game begin at just $5 and are available at UCFAthletics.com and via Ticketmaster. A special "Pick Your Starting Five" ticket plan, which allows fans to select tickets to five games of their choice for as little as $45, is currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000.
