ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - When Marc Daniels takes the air Sunday to broadcast UCF's game at No. 14 Connecticut in Hartford, the contest will mark the end of a busy weekend for the Knights' veteran play-by-play announcer. Daniels will call two games in two days in different states on the UCF-ISP Sports Network.

On Saturday, Daniels will be on hand in St. Petersburg when the UCF football team meets Rutgers in the St. Pete Bowl. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. The game should end around 11:30 p.m., and after an extended postgame show, Daniels will leave Tropicana Field near 1 a.m. Sunday.

From there he will shift his attention to basketball. Daniels will head directly to Orlando International Airport, where he will board a 5 a.m. flight to Hartford. Daniels expects to arrive at the XL Center well before the 1 p.m. tip-off.

Despite his busy schedule, Daniels is looking forward to the weekend. He will actually arrive in St. Petersburg Friday night to host an installment of the George O'Leary Radio Show.

"This is really going to be a great weekend for UCF fans. I am honored to have the opportunity to call not only the bowl game, but also the basketball game against a great UConn squad," he said. "Will I be a little tired on Sunday when I arrive in Hartford? Absolutely, but there was no way that I was going to miss the UConn game. I will have plenty of time to sleep on the plane."

Ironically, the last time that UCF participated in a bowl game, Daniels missed a Knights' basketball contest against Connecticut. In 2007, head coach Kirk Speraw's squad hosted the Huskies at the UCF Arena. Daniels was in Memphis, Tenn., for UCF's appearance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Notes: Last night at USF, sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) led UCF with 14 points. Sosa hit four triples and is now shooting 55.5 percent from 3-point range this season... The contest at Connecticut will be televised live on ESPN Regional. In Orlando, Bright House Sports Network will carry the game. Fans can also visit ESPN360.com for a live broadcast.
