Oct. 7, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team will look to post its first Conference USA victory of the season Wednesday night, traveling to Miami, Fla., for a contest against Florida International. The Knights enter the match at 3-4-2 overall and 0-2-0 in C-USA play.

The Knights found the back of the net in both of their league contests, but were unable to pull out victories against Memphis and South Carolina.

Sophomore Spencer Scott (Palm City, Fla.) tallied a goal and an assist in the 3-2 loss at Memphis while junior captain Yaron Bacher (Atlanta, Ga.) put the Knights on the board early in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of South Carolina last Sunday.

For the season, freshman Nicholas Keown-Robson (Auckland, New Zealand) leads UCF with three goals and nine points. Five other players, including Bacher and Scott, have four points during the campaign.

FIU will also enter the game looking for its first C-USA victory as the Golden Panthers are 3-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in league play. Sebastian Frings has accounted for half of FIU's scoring with six of the team's 12 goals.

In 2008, UCF led 1-0 with 10 minutes to play before the Golden Panthers scored twice late to steal a victory in Orlando.

The Knights return to Orlando next Tuesday, Oct. 13 to host Mercer in a non-conference contest at 7:30 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
