Orlando, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After four rounds of qualifying, UCF's lineup is set for The Prestige at PGA West, which begins Sunday in La Quinta, Calif. Seniors Devin Spies (Sarasota, Fla.) and Simon Ward (County Monaghan, Ireland), junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) and sophomores Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) will compete for the Knights in California.
Henriques and Schneider both earned tournament exemptions by finishing in the top 10 at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Indiana in September.
Spies posted a 4-under 141 during the first two rounds of qualifying at the Rio Pinar Country Club to take the third spot. Arendell then qualified by carding a 139 (-5) during rounds at North Shore and Stoneybrook.
Freshman Andrew Colvin (Longwood, Fla.) qualified by posting the low total for the four rounds, and was followed by junior Jed Dirksen (Hampton, Iowa). Colvin will not play in California due to personal reason and Dirksen plans to redshirt, so Ward was next in line as a result of his four-round total.
The Knights will leave Orlando for California on Friday.
UCF will be playing for the first time since Sept. 22, when play concluded at the Adam's Cup of Newport Invitational in Rhode Island.
