Men's Golf Ties with No. 3 Washington at Isleworth

WINDERMERE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Play concluded Tuesday at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, and the UCF men's golf team tied for 13th at the tournament, which included seven of the top-10 squads in the country. The Knights finished the three-round, three-day event at the Isleworth Country Club at 913 (+49), good enough to tie with No. 3 Washington.

UCF carded a 19-over 307 Tuesday. In total, 12 of the 15 teams at the event were ranked in the top-25 nationally.

Top-ranked Oklahoma State took the team title, finishing the tournament at 17-over 881. The Cowboys were followed by No. 10 Florida (886, +22), No. 5 Stanford (888, +24) and No. 24 Georgia (893, +29). Second-ranked Arizona State concluded play one stroke ahead of the Knights at 48-over 912 to finish 12th.

Junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) was UCF's top finisher, tying for 25th at 226 (+10). Sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) tied for 29th at 11-over 227, and senior Simon Ward (County Monaghan, Ireland) tied for 33rd (228, +12).

Sophomore Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) tied for 59th (234, +18) and freshman Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) tied for 66th at 25-over 241. Martin was playing in his first collegiate tournament.

Bud Cauley of Alabama took medalist honors. He finished play at 211 (-5), edging out Sihwan Kim of Stanford (212, -4).

Texas Tech hosted the event.

The tournament was the last of the fall for the Knights. UCF will return to action on Feb. 13, when play begins at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville.
