Knights Post Strong Second Round at Isleworth

WINDERMERE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team posted a strong second round Monday at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, carding a 10-over 298 to move to 11th. The Knights (606, +30) enter Tuesday's final round at the Isleworth Country Club just one shot out of the top 10.

UCF is currently one stroke ahead of No. 2 Arizona State and three shots ahead of third-ranked Washington. Seven of the top-10 ranked teams in the nation are competing at the 15-squad event. No. 23 Clemson is 10th at 605 (+29).

UCF junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) is tied for 27th at 150 (+6). Sophomore Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) is tied for 33rd one shot behind (151, +7). On Monday, sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) carded a 1-over 73 and is now tied for 37th (152, +8). Senior Simon Ward (County Monaghan, Ireland) shot a 74 (+2) during the second round. He is tied for 39th at 9-over 153. Competing in his first collegiate tournament, freshman Reid Martin (Mukilteo, Wash.) is tied for 66th at 160 (+16).

Play at the tournament, which is being hosted by Texas Tech, began Sunday. UCF was tied for 12th after 18 holes.

No. 1 Oklahoma State leads the field at 580 (+4). The Cowboys carded a 1-over 289 Monday. No. 10 Florida is second at 584 (+8), followed by No. 5 Stanford (589, +13) and No. 19 Alabama (592, +16).

Individually, Alabama's Bud Cauley leads the field at 5-under 139.
