Men's Golf Concludes Play in California

LA QUINTA, Calif. (UCFAthletics.com) - Play concluded Tuesday at The Prestige at PGA WEST, and the UCF men's golf team placed 10th at the tournament. The Knights ended the event at 888 (+24) after posting a 6-over 294 during the final round.

UCF junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) led the Knights in California, tying for 14th (218, +2).

Five of the top-40 ranked squads in the nation participated in the event. No. 27 TCU took the team title, finishing at 14-under 850. No. 8 Stanford (866, +2) was second, followed by No. 4 Washington (869, +5).

The Knights finished seven shots ahead of No. 11 Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish concluded the tournament at 31-over 895.

Play at the three-day tournament began on Sunday. TCU's Daniel Jennvret claimed medalist honors. He finished at 204 (-12).

UCF sophomore Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) carded a 1-over 73 Tuesday. He tied for 31st at 222 (+6). Senior Devin Spies (Sarasota, Fla.) tied for 51st at 228 (+12) and fellow senior Simon Ward (County Monaghan, Ireland) tied for 54th (229, +13). Sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) tied for 57th (230, +14).

The Knights have one more event remaining on their fall schedule. The team will play close to home in Windermere at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational from Oct. 25-27.
