ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After getting its first Conference USA victory in its last outing, the UCF men's soccer team takes a break from league play Tuesday night to host Mercer at 7:30 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
The Knights are 3-2-2 in non-conference play in 2009, and the game against the Bears will be UCF's final contest outside of Conference USA this season.
UCF enters the game with a record of 4-4-2 overall this season, while Mercer is 4-5-2 overall and 3-1-0 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Having last played Wednesday, the Knights are coming off a 2-1 victory over FIU. Freshman Nicholas Keown-Robson (Auckland, New Zealand) continued his impressive rookie campaign with a successful penalty kick in the first half. Junior Yaron Bacher (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied the eventual game-winner in the second half, his second-straight game finding the back of the net.
With 11 points, Robson has surpassed the total of the Knights' leading point scorer in 2008. The freshman leads the team with four goals and three assists.
Mercer enters the game after dropping its first A-Sun game of the season on Saturday evening against USC Upstate. Ian Cameron has half of the team's 12 goals on the season, tallying six thus far.
