Men's Golf Continues Competition Out West

LA QUINTA, Calif. (UCFAthletics.com) - After two days of play at The Prestige at PGA WEST, the UCF men's golf team sits in ninth at 594 (+18). For the second-straight round, the Knights posted a 9-over 297 Monday.

Junior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) carded a 3-under 69 during the second round and is tied for fifth at 2-under 142.

UCF is two strokes behind Vanderbilt. The Commodores are currently eighth in the team standings. Defending champion TCU leads the field at 574 (-2), followed by No. 8 Stanford (578, +2).

Five of the top-40 squads in the country are competing at the event.

The three-day, three-round tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday. Thirteen teams are in action in La Quinta.

Henriques will enter the final round six shots behind TCU's Daniel Jennevret, who is tops individually at 136 (-8). Jennevret posted a 5-under 67 Tuesday.

Sophomore Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) is tied for 32nd (149, +5) and fellow sophomore Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) is tied for 43rd at 151 (+7).
