Frisell Upsets the 25th-Ranked Player in the Nation

Sept. 26, 2009

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - During day two of the Florida Gator Fall Classic, junior Jenny Frisell stunned No. 25 Kristi Boxx from Ole Miss, 6-4, 7-5, in singles action Saturday. That marked the highest-ranked player Frisell has defeated in her career.

"Jenny played really well today," said head coach Stephanie Nickitas. "She really figured out that she can be more of an attacking, aggressive player today. She was able to be the aggressor out there and get points quicker. If she continues to play with this style she can have even more success in the future."

The Knights played five singles matches against Ole Miss in the afternoon, and also took on Florida in a pair of doubles contests.

To conclude their trip to Gainesville, UCF will meet the Rebels in doubles play and finish the singles portion of thei schedule vs. USF.
