Reis Helps Lift Brazil to a 7-0 Win in a Friendly

July 13, 2009

JUIZ DE FORA, Brazil (UCFAthletics.com) - Spending her summer in the Brazilian Women's Soccer National Team camp, UCF sophomore goalkeeper Aline Reis (Campinas, Brazil) helped guide her country to a 7-0 victory in a friendly over the weekend. Brazil is currently preparing for the South American Championships, where countries will vie for two spots into the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany.

Although stats for the match were unavailable, Reis and her teammates were taking on a selection of players from the town of Juiz de Fora, with most of the squad coming from Benfica which placed third in its championships last year.

Brazil is ranked second in the world and will be completing its camp in approximately one week. Reis, an All-American as a freshman for UCF in 2008, joined her native country to start camp July 6.

Back in Orlando, the Knights will open up their training schedule in early August. Check back to UCFAthletics.com for the release of their schedule and more updates before the 2009 season gets underway.
