ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Saturday, the UCF men's golf added another accolade to its already impressive season, claiming the title at the NCAA Regional at the RedTail Golf Club in nearby Sorrento, earning a trip to the NCAA Championship in late May. The victory garnered the Knights some local and national media coverage.

UCF finished the three-round event at 34-under 818, 11 shots ahead of top-ranked Georgia, Arizona and South Carolina, who tied for second. Redshirt freshman Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) placed second at 13-under 200. He was followed in third by freshman Blayne Barber (Lake City, Fla.) at 202 (-11). On Saturday, Barber recorded a school and course record 9-under 62.

The regional title was the first in school history for the Knights. UCF will be making its fourth trip to the championship and first since 1992.

The NCAA Championship will be held in Toledo, Ohio, at the Inverness Club from May 26-30. Thirty teams and five individuals will be in action at the event.
