ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With the UCF baseball team eagerly anticipating the final three Conference USA weekends beginning at home vs. Marshall Friday, head coach Terry Rooney sat down once again with UCFAthletics.com for an exclusive video interview. Joined by UCF baseball communications director Brian Ormiston, Rooney emphasized the importance of the upcoming series against Marshall, as well as how the entire team has been stepping up since the start of April. One of those players focused on is Shane Brown who claimed three separate national player of the week awards for his performance vs. Stetson April 21 and at UAB April 24-26.
Rooney also takes a look at summer ball, what his coaching staff is focusing on as they begin to finalize their recruiting class and how he tries to raise the bar at UCF after receiving recognition from around the country for recruiting some of the best classes at schools like LSU and Notre Dame.
Along with the series vs. Marshall Friday-Sunday, the Black and Gold also host Florida International May 5 and Stetson May 6 before heading out to No. 2 Rice.
