ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF junior Shane Brown has added two more weekly awards to his collection. The Winter Park, Fla., native was selected as CollegeBaseballInsider.com's National Player of the Week while he also was named to the College Baseball Foundation and Diamond Sports National All-Star Lineup.

Brown went off in the four-game week for the Knights as they defeated Stetson April 21 and took the series two games to one at UAB April 24-26. He matched an NCAA record by reaching base in 18-straight plate appearances, all while going 13-for-18 for a .722 average, 1.333 slugging percentage, .783 on-base percentage and a 2.116 OPS. Brown scored 10 runs and pounded out five doubles and two home runs.
In the series with the Blazers, Brown got aboard a total of 17 of 18 times he went to the plate, and finished with an .846 batting average and a 2.427 OPS vs. UAB.
After Tuesday's 2-for-4 game in a 9-5 victory over USF, Brown now holds a team-best .383 average with 16 doubles and 34 runs scored.
The Knights are back on the diamond Wednesday when they travel to Tampa to face USF at 7 p.m.
