Relive Victory Over Tulsa on UCF Sports Today

Feb. 17, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The Knights' 74-72 victory over visiting Tulsa last week featured it all: senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) establishing a school scoring record, a comeback from a 17-point second half deficit and freshman guard A.J. Rompza's last-second game-winning shot. Tune in to UCF Sports Today with Kirk Speraw Tuesday to relive the exciting win.

The 30-minute program will air on UCF TV at 12:30 p.m. and statewide on Sun Sports at 4 p.m.

Speraw and host Marc Daniels will review UCF's two games from last week, including the win over Tulsa. In the first half of the contest, Taylor, who finished with 35 points, became the program's all-time leading scorer at the Division I level. The Knights trailed 56-39 with 10:36 remaining in the game, but Taylor led an improbable comeback. With the score tied at 72, Rompza nailed the game-winning jumper in the lane with less than a second left to give the hosts the victory.

This week's show also includes a feature story about how the UCF Arena has aided the UCF program. The 10,000-seat facility opened in fall 2007. Rompza, senior center Kenrick Zondervan (Hoofddorp, Holland) and freshman guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) will appear on the program to talk about the facility.

Tuesday's episode features music from Weszt and its song "I Rely," plus The Dropa Stone's track "Pattern Nation." For more information on the bands, visit Weszt.com and MySpace.com/thedropastone.

Bright House Sports Network will show the program Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Friday at 4 p.m. Episodes of UCF Sports Today with Kirk Speraw are also available at UCFAthletics.com and UCFTV.ucf.edu.

Speraw's team will return to action Saturday at Houston. The Knights' next game at the UCF Arena is set for Wednesday, Feb. 25, versus Rice.
