ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Extra Innings with Renee Luers-Gillispie is now available for viewing online at UCFAthletics.com. Hosted by UCF radio personality Scott Adams, the online video discussion can be viewed through Knights All-Access.
In the most recent episode, Gillispie reviews the Knights' six contests last week, including the UCF Early Bird Tournament, where the Black and Gold hosted 10 tough teams, including then-No. 11Tennessee. In the contest against the Lady Vols, junior Ashleigh Cole (Pace, Fla.) held Tennessee to just three hits and one earned run in eight innings of work.
The pair also discusses the team's upcoming slate for the week. The Knights will travel to Jacksonville on Wednesday to take on the Dolphins, before returning home to host the UCF Softball Complex for the Comfort Suites Invitational.
This week, Gillispie and Adams named sophomore Tiffany Lane (Moreno Valley, Calif.) their pick for the Knights' Player of the Week. The shortstop batted .400 (8-for-20) on the week with three triples, five runs scored and a .700 slugging percentage. Hillary Barrow (Miami, Fla.) and Cole were also top contributors for the Black and Gold last week.
Throughout the 2009 season, Gillispie and Adams will return every week to discuss the week that was and what is ahead for the team. The skipper will also answer questions from fans at the conclusion of each broadcast.
