Nov. 10, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After the Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship came to a close Sunday, UCF learned that senior Danielle Dos Santos and freshman Aline Reis were both selected to the All-Tournament Team. The Knights advanced to the semifinals of the event, dropping a 2-0 decision to eventual champion Memphis.

Both natives of Campinas, Brazil, dos Santos and Reis have guided UCF to a 13-5-3 record this year and a possible berth in the NCAA Tournament. The 64-team field will be announced Monday at 8 p.m.

Dos Santos recorded the Knights' first goal of the C-USA Championship, scoring 1:37 into the first-round contest vs. Rice. It was the quickest goal by a UCF player since 2003. The Black and Gold went on to eliminate the Owls, 2-1. Meanwhile in net, Reis made one save vs. Rice and followed that up with nine saves in the loss to Memphis. It was her second-highest save total in a match this season.

The entire C-USA All-Tournament Team is listed below.
